The Series
Premise. High Stakes follows Ron, a nervous new grill cook at a sports-bar-restaurant called The Grille, and Jac, the seasoned coworker who introduces him to psychedelics. Each episode, a trip pulls the crew into a wildly different world — a medieval quest, a Die Hard-style siege, a Saw-style trap, a dinosaur island — while their real shift keeps ticking back at the grill.
World. Two anchors hold the show down: The Grille and the group’s apartment. Everything else is whatever the trip conjures, rendered with animation’s full license — morphing sets, cartoon logic, and a line between fantasy and reality that keeps slipping.
Tone. Surreal, absurdist, and raunchy — dark humor and horror beats with the occasional gut-punch of real feeling. Adult animation, squarely for grown-ups.
Format. Season one is eight episodes: mostly standalone trips with a light thread running underneath, building to the crew reckoning with why they keep checking out.
For fans of adult animated comedy — surreal, reference-soaked, and unafraid.

High Stakes is an original animated series in active development at FD Productions. Season one is written and outlined — episode one, ‘Grilled Cheese,’ exists as a complete script, and the remaining seven episodes are in development.
It has not been ordered, cast, financed, or produced. We’re building the season and welcome conversations with collaborators and partners.
